Batho Pele Unemployed Rural Association NPC turns Corporate Social Investment into completed, certified, working people — through accredited skills training and full community support in rural Limpopo.
Batho Pele was founded in 2020 in Ga Maja, Polokwane, to answer a simple problem — rural Limpopo has no shortage of willing, capable people, only a shortage of pathways that carry them all the way to work.
We are the community and CSI vehicle in every programme we run. We recruit locally, host learners, manage their stipends, look after their wellbeing, and stay with them until they exit successfully — trained, certified, and placed.
Our accredited technical training is delivered by our partner Sekanamisa, a QCTO-accredited Skills Development Provider. Together, we turn a training budget into a person with a job.
Skills training opens a door. These four areas make sure people are ready and able to walk through it.
Accredited Cisco and CompTIA-aligned IT learnerships, delivered with Sekanamisa from enrolment to certification.
Support for ECD in Ga Maja and surrounds, strengthening the foundation before the pathway even begins.
Programmes addressing household food insecurity, because a learner cannot focus on training on an empty stomach.
Wider employability programmes for community members outside the formal IT learnership stream.
Every learner moves through the same four stages. Sekanamisa and Batho Pele each carry the half they're built for — so nobody falls through the middle.
Learners are sourced directly from the rural host community.
QCTO-accredited curriculum, assessment and moderation.
Stipend administration and pastoral / wellbeing care.
Certification, plus workplace placement or absorption.
Sekanamisa guarantees accredited, compliant technical delivery. Batho Pele guarantees the community access, retention and exit outcomes that decide whether a learnership actually changes a life — and whether it counts fully toward a sponsor's scorecard.
Since 2020, we've built a working, accountable pipeline — not a pilot.
A single relationship with Batho Pele and Sekanamisa can contribute to several B-BBEE and Mining Charter elements at once.
| Scorecard element | Our contribution | Benefit to you |
|---|---|---|
| Skills Development | Accredited Cisco/CompTIA learnerships via a QCTO-accredited SDP | Recognised skills spend and learnership points |
| Socio-Economic Development | ECD and food security work in a historically disadvantaged rural community | Documented SED spend with a genuine community footprint |
| Enterprise & Supplier Development | A local, black-owned NPC and its accredited training partner | Supports local supplier/partner development commitments |
| Mining Charter — HR Development | A structured learnership pipeline from entry to exit | Evidence for SLP human resource development |
| Mining Charter — Local Economic Development | Rural Limpopo footprint in Ga Maja and surrounds | Demonstrable local / mine-community development impact |
Final scorecard classification and points depend on your organisation's verified B-BBEE status and your verification agency's assessment.
Whether you're a corporate CSI team, a mining SLP office, or a community partner — we'd like to hear what you're trying to achieve, and show you where we fit.
